Franka Athletics believes in growth.
Founder and coach Neil Franka is a San Diego local who developed his passion for swimming at the age of 7. From Parks & Recs swim lessons all the way up to Olympic Trials, Neil had a swim journey longer than most. He was fortunate to have been surrounded by excellence, having come out of one of the greatest distance programs in the country. Neil then moved onto a Division-I college, and finally finished his swimming career amongst several professional swimmers at home in San Diego. Now, as a coach, Neil believes in growing his athletes using his evolved understanding of swim training: technique first, endurance second, variety third. Whether you are a sprinter at heart, or an Ironman endurance athlete, you will be brought out of your comfort zones to experience something new and effective, all in an effort to make you grow as an athlete.
Technique
Solid technique is at the root of any successful swimmer. Each person requires a different approach to their technical development.
Endurance
At its heart, swimming is an aerobic sport. In order to conquer the sport, aerobic endurance must be built and stroke efficiency must be found.
Variety
Exposing yourself to different drills and strokes makes you a robust swimmer. You will always apply something new back to your specialty. Plus it’s fun.
